Riparian Forest Buffers The purpose is to reduce excess amounts of pollutants in surface runoff, and to limit (can have access points) livestock access to streams.
How much does it pay? Cost share is offered at 75 percent of the county average or actual cost for establishment of those components technically necessary to certify the practice according to NRCS. Such components might include wells, fence, pipeline, tanks, etc.
Maintenance Life This practice has a 10-year maintenance agreement that says the landowner will maintain the practice in accordance with NRCS standards for the life of the practice.

Nutrient Management Purpose: To demonstrate proper application and reduce overapplication of nutrients, either commercial fertilizer or manure, by applying the proper amounts of nutrients and lime according to soil test results and a nutrient management plan, to minimize the entry of nutrients to surface and ground water.
How Much Does it Pay? Shall not exceed 20 dollars per acre one time, one year payment with a limit of 20 dollars per year, per farm, per landowner or operator.
Specifications Landowner needs to have a reviewable record keeping form for long-term analysis, including the amounts, form, dates and crop stages of nutrient applications.
Well Decommissioning
Purpose is for abandoned wells to be decommissioned to prevent entry of vermin, debris, fertilizer, pesticides, contaminated surface water into the well or well bore hole.
What will it pay? 100 percent of actual cost or county average cost with a limit of for both drilled and hand dug wells.
